My apologies for the small cover but my scanner has had a breakdown and the above is the only image I can find online -from the Accent UK site. If I can get a replacement image I’ll replace  it.
Now, I got two Western Noirs this week -volume 2 and volume 3. I thought that was quick publishing but I notice vol. 2 has a 2012 date. So, you probably know all about this book if you were a fan of the first. I could rave about VERY bad PR but I’m just too…well, I don’t care.
Thing is, if you have a good book like this you need to publicise it.  There has been a need for a good UK Western comic and this isn’t just that. I’d call it “Lee Van Cleef Does X-Files” -well, Josiah Black, the lead character, does remind me of the great man so that’s how I envisage this.
Sadly, Black’s latest mission for the mysterious Mr. Caligary does NOT involve wiping out any of those…’persons’ featuring on TV such as Swamp Rats or Gator Brothers. I say “sadly” because the only thing on their shows deserving of being wiped out are the people. Darn, getting too liberal.
There are a few nice twists here and Black is in the mold of the old Spaghetti Western anti heroes: single minded, cold and…a killer with a mission.
I like the crinkle look covers that make these look like old pulps and I really do think Accent UK need to seriously promote this series.
And to prove how good the book is, check out Paul H. Birch’s Speech Balloons blogs for his review:http://blogs.birminghammail.co.uk/speechballoon/2012/12/westernoir-book-two.html

Sunday Video: Trinity War Comprehensive Preview: Everything You Need to Know

How many Justice Leagues do you need? Three, apparently…oh, and a Secret Society of Villains.
The guy from B3Comics has put together a 20 minute preview looking at the characters and how they might interact in the coming Trinity Bleed the suckers dry War.
As I watched I realised that I had absolutely no interest in the temporary tripe DC Comics is dishing out. Great art but come on –how can you put any personal care and enthusiasm in…well, something that’s going to change again soon?
The ‘fans’ keep buying this shit and the DC executives continue their ejaculation over tables of money squeezed from them.
DC has, on their site, short snippets of San Diego Comic Con titled Day Away From The Con. Are these fascinating insight clips? No. Basically Jeoff Johns and Jim Lee talking about how great DC is and how great it is to meet the suckersfans. Everything else is basically “buy DC Comics we’re brilliant!” I do like the fact that some of the “great creatives” can hardly hold a sentence together!
Saddest item on the Day Away videos is the ‘life long comic book fan’ Christopher Lee introducing “Necessary Evil” -a “project I am proud to be part of”. Sad, sad, sad -and you can tell he’s reading cue cards (praising DC of course!!).
Anyway, as you prepare to have your money ass-raped by DC here’s the Preview to get the juices flowing.

Oh, Marvel DOES have three SDCC related videos but video-wise DC Comics beat Marvel to a pulp. Even if it’s all just a very uninteresting pulp.

At first I thought the duo were bringing us a straight forward Western, gunplay, fast women and cards. I’m a fool.
Josiah Black seems to be having a quiet spell and we even hear a little more about his wife and child and how they died. Cassiopeia Eliades seems a nice enough woman showing an interest in Black. Eliades and her sisters, Lelia and Coralie, run a river boat. Hey, can Black really be going soft?
It’s only in the final few pages that Mr. Caligary’s messenger, Baylocke, delivers instructions for Black’s next mission.
From there on in the action starts. NO SPOILERS!!!
West and Crutchley deliver another great Western …and where is all the publicity it deserves?
